American Airlines is expanding their service to include non stop flights from Dallas to Barbados:

FORT WORTH, Texas, Aug 31, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — American Airlines customers will have greater access to beautiful Caribbean beaches this winter as the airline adds nonstop flights to Barbados from its Dallas- Fort Worth (DFW) hub.* This new nonstop, three times per week service begins Dec. 16, and will be an addition to American Airlines convenient selection of flights to Barbados. Currently the airline provides daily nonstop service from New York-JFK and Miami International Airport.

Via American Airlines brings Barbados to Dallas-Fort Worth three times a week beginning this Winter.

A heads up for tenants on their Barbados Light & Power service

Did you know that as a tenant, you can achieve 10% off of your electricity bill, once you transfer the account into your name?

We’ve been renting for the last 4 years only to be advised by a rep at BL&P that the advantages of transferring the account into your name is the discount you get each month off of your bill. Until fairly recently, the rep advised that if in the property manager’s name, BL&P ranks the property under ‘General Service’ and this discount becomes null and void.

However, the rep also advised that they changed this rule a few months back so that the property management company can now change their ‘General Service’ accounts to ‘Domestic Service’, allowing tenants to be eligible for the 10% discount.

Considering how high the fuel charges are these days and the fact the price per joule has doubled, we could really have done with this knowledge, say, 2 years ago?!

Many of you might have been aware of this already, but for those of you who weren’t, either demand that your property manager switches the tariff bracket that you are in or take the time to go in and transfer your BL&P account to your name…

British Airways Chief Executive Addresses the Caribbean with Keynote Speech

Soon, the chief executive of British Airways, Willie Walsh, will give his keynote address at the Caribbean Tourism Organization leadership strategy conference. This conference is going to take place on October 9-12 in Barbados.

Not only will Walsh be attending the meeting with other Caribbean ministers and commissioners, he will be giving his keynote speech at the Sunday morning conference. This speech is going to be on the future of intercontinental travel and the importance of partnerships between airlines and the destinations they serve. One of the highlights of the conference will be the British Airways hosted dinner that will take place on October 10 (Sunday).

Virgin Atlantic confident with additional flights to Barbados planned.

Virgin Atlantic is adding flights to the Caribbean from next year in a further sign of airlines’ confidence of a recovery in the recession-hit industry.

From October 2011, Virgin Atlantic is boosting its Caribbean capacity by 20 per cent to nearly 22,000 weekly seats, with extra flights to Barbados, Cuba, Tobago and Grenada.

Hurricane Danielle growing stronger – Chicago International Travel | Examiner.com

The National Hurricane Center in Miami reported late Monday that Hurricane Danielle is continuing to gather strength and could become a major hurricane by late Tuesday.

The storm is still far away from any inhabited areas, but forecast models show it could threaten the popular tourist island of Bermuda by the end of the week.
